ITS administers
a statewide contract with a vendor that provides
equipment maintenance and repair services for
LAN, desktop, and printer devices that are outside
of their warranty period. When an agency requires
maintenance and/or repairs on a specific piece
of equipment, the agency calls ITS
Customer Support to initiate a work order.
ITS maintains
a list of equipment supported by the vendor.
If an agency desires to put a specific device
under
a maintenance contract, ITS pays the vendor and
then passes on the costs, plus 8%, to the agency.
If an agency wants to add a device to the list
of supported equipment, ITS works with the contracted
vendor to get a price quote for the new device
and then adds the new device to the list.
Equipment can also be repaired without a maintenance
contract. In this case the vendor charges time
and materials and bills the agency directly.
