Login.utah.gov© is
an enterprise single sign-on service for
the Web. (A replacement of the former "Innerweb
Login.”) It provides a method for agencies
to authenticate and authorize users to access
their
applications without having to develop those
functions themselves. Login.utah.gov also provides
agencies
with delegated administrative functions, which
allow agency application administrators to
set up rules
for accessing their applications and to grant
rights to users. Login.utah.gov uses Netegrity's
SiteMinder® as
the authentication engine and the Utah
Master Directory© (UMD) as the user
object repository.
The
target customers for login.utah.gov are application
developers, administrators, and
users. In order to implement
login.utah.gov, application developers and administrators
explicitly
select login.utah.gov
over other
authentication options for their application.
While this service
is invisible to users accessing a protected
application, users are provided
some limited control over their user information.
